Who We Are
Although DPS has made significant progress to increase graduation rates for all student groups, gaps remain for Black and Latinx students. In addition, college readiness measures and post-secondary enrollment rates indicate that DPS schools have not graduated all students prepared for success in their post-secondary path of choice. This is especially true for Black and Latinx students.
The College Ready On Track Network is an improvement community dedicated to developing, iterating, and spreading practices that advance career and college success for Black and Latinx students in Denver Public Schools.
Funded by a $10 million grant from the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation over six years, the network currently includes 22 DPS high schools.
What We Do
Our improvement coaches (called Program Managers) support school design teams in creating, testing, and analyzing change ideas in the classroom through Plan, Do, Study, Act cycles. Through this iterative process, we are working toward the following goals:
Student Outcomes: Improve “college ready on track outcomes” for Black, Latinx, and multilingual learners
Capacity Building: Build a culture of continuous improvement at the school and district levels in DPS
Support Strong Networks: Support and sustain a vibrant network of schools to share learning and spread effective practices within the network and beyond
Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion: Create and support a culture of culturally responsive mindsets and practices at the school and district levels in DPS
