Our aim is to increase the percentage of Black, Latinx, and MLL students who demonstrate proficiency in math as indicated by their mastery of math capstone performance indicators.

To accomplish this, the network will test change ideas that…

  • Provide Access to Rigorous Tasks

  • Increase Access to Language Supports

  • Foster a Culture of Risk-Taking

  • Facilitate Student Discussion

  • Create a Community of Feedback

“What I have learned... is that it is essential to our success as educators to slow down, dive deep, and to proceed with intentionality.”

What are Network Schools Designing and Implementing?

In the winter of 2022, the network of teachers, school administrators, and district support staff met to ground themselves in our aim statement. In a collaborative effort, they discussed connections between their current work in schools and the network theory of improvement. The goals was to select change ideas for schools to test in their classrooms.

As teams continue to refine their change ideas, this space will highlight the learning process schools undertake by generating and testing those ideas. Additionally, the Theory of Improvement itself will change as participants gain deeper understanding of the problems facing their schools and what actions they and their communities believe can lead to improved outcomes.
